Indonesia has no single harvest. Sumatra runs against the eastern islands, which is the whole argument for buying more than one origin from one exporter: there is fresh crop somewhere for ten months of the year.

Four ports, one transshipment
Nothing sails direct from Indonesia to a roasting country. Everything goes through Singapore or Tanjung Pelepas, which adds three days and one more set of hands. Transit times below are door of the port to door of the port, and they are honest averages rather than a carrier's best case.

Loading a container
- 20' FCL
- 320 bags loose loaded, 19,200 kg net. Palletised, 300 bags and 18,000 kg.
- LCL
- From 6 bags, consolidated in Belawan or Jakarta
- Air
- Up to 100 kg for micro-lots and sample sets, 5–7 days
- Preparation
- Container inspected and photographed empty, floor lined with kraft paper, desiccant on request for winter arrivals
- At the door
- Final moisture reading taken and recorded, seal photographed against the container number
After the vessel leaves
- Within 24 hours
- Shipping advice — vessel, voyage, container and seal numbers, ETD and ETA
- Within 3 days
- Copy documents by email, so your customs broker can start
- Then
- Originals couriered, or telex release once the balance is paid
- On arrival
- Arrival notice from our agent at the discharge port
- If something is wrong
- Tell us within 14 days of discharge. We cup our counter-sample beside yours before anyone talks about money.
