Coming to see it
Buyers are welcome, and the trip is more useful in some months than others. Here is what it actually takes.
- To the lab
- Fly into Kualanamu (KNO), forty minutes from the office. Any week of the year, a day is enough.
- To the mill
- Medan to Takengon is nine hours by road, or a short flight to Rembele. Two nights, minimum.
- Best months
- November to January, when the main crop is coming in and the yards are full. May to July for Lintong.
- Worst months
- March and April. Nothing is being picked in Aceh and you will look at empty beds.
- Bring
- Boots. Every yard worth seeing is up a road that stops being a road.
